From Merzouga, you will ride the tall Erg Chebbi dunes into the large desert plains headed toward Ramlia. From there, the path carries on to the remote community of Tafraoute Sidi Ali, well-known for its unspoiled scenery. After spending your second night in Ouzina, a quiet desert town tucked amid sand dunes, you will circle back to Merzouga on fresh trails. An amazing loop around the Moroccan desert, this route has the ideal combination of dunes, rocky terrain, tricky riding, and local culture.

Day 1: Merzouga – Taouz – Ramlia (Approx. 120 km)
Starting from Merzouga and head south via the fabled Erg Chebbi dunes, the bike Following former Dakar Rally paths near Taouz, the path winds over sandy terrain and pauses to see old rock drawings. Proceed via sandy oueds and untamed desert landscape to get to the isolated hamlet of Ramlia, where you will spend the evening in a classic auberge with breathtaking views of the desert.
Day 2: Ramlia – Tafraoute Sidi Ali – Ouzina (Approx. 120 km)
Following a desert breakfast, the journey winds over uneven ground into Tafraoute Sidi Ali, a seldom seen community buried well inside the Sahara. With portions of soft sand, dried lakebeds, and expansive desert plateaus, the journey is difficult and beautiful. After lunch, keep on into Ouzina, a peaceful desert community encircled by orange dunes. At a family-owned guesthouse, savor a home-cooked dinner, Berber hospitality, and a calm evening.
Day 3: Ouzina – Jdaid – Merzouga (Approx. 120 km)
The last portion of the trip winds you back to Merzouga via some other path. From hard-packed desert tracks to twisting sandy paths, ride via the settlement of Jdaid, past places rich in fossils, and negotiate a diversity of terrain. The golden dunes reappearance as you get closer to Merzouga provides one more blow over the sand before you return in time to unwind and consider your three-day journey.

Before beginning this Morocco Desert Motorbike Tour, riders must be current motorcycle licensed and experienced off-road. The trip consists of fuel, Yamaha bikes, mechanical assistance, and a 4×4 support vehicle. Not included are flights, required travel insurance, meals, drinks, personal expenses, be ready for a spectacular desert trip!
Always include basic riding gear including a helmet, gloves, jacket, knee protection, and strong boots. Along with sunscreen, sunglasses, a compact bag, comfortable, light-weight clothes for the day and warm layers for desert evenings are absolutely essential. Though winter (Nov-Feb) brings cold desert evenings, summer (June-Aug) may be rather scorching.
Always follow the advice of your guide for your safety we have very knowledgeable guides who will lead you safely during your tour with us; keep a safe space between riders; be careful on sandy, rocky, or steep ground. Drinking lots of water is quite advised since hydration is quite important. These preparations will help you to be ready for a remarkable desert adventure!
